ANAHEIM, CALIF. (September 25, 2009) St. Catherine’s Military Academy held its second annual Grandparents’ Day celebration on Friday, September 25th. Grandparents of current cadets were invited to share in a special Mass followed by lunch with their grandsons in the cadet dining hall.
Over 50 grandparents attended the special day. For many, it was the first time they had visited St. Catherine’s. “It was wonderful to look out over the chapel and see so many grandparents,” said Sister Johnellen Turner, OP, the principal of St. Catherine’s. “We believe they are such an important part of the foundation for our boys.”
St. Catherine’s Military Academy, founded in 1889 by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, is an independent Catholic school with a military tradition for boys in grades Kindergarten to 8th grade.
