Admissions Process & Guidelines

St. Catherine’s Military Academy is a Catholic school with a military tradition for boys in grades kindergarten to eighth grade. Boys who would benefit from small class sizes and hands-on teaching are welcome to apply.  As a day/resident academy, we provide 5 and 7 day boarding for boys in grades 4-8. For additional information regarding our residency program, please click here.

During the admissions process, each applicant will be evaluated on character, academic performance, willingness to work to his potential, and ability to work cooperatively with others.  The process can take as little as one week and consists of the following steps:

  1. Request an information packet.
  2. Attend a parent information night or schedule a private tour.
  3. Schedule a shadow visit for your prospective student.
  4. Submit application and related forms.
  5. Interview with principal (student and parents).
  6. Complete enrollment forms and pay reservation deposit.
  7. Become a St. Catherine’s cadet!

Shadow Visits for Prospective Students

A “shadow” visit is a great way for you and your son to decide if St. Catherine’s in the right school for your family.  Your son will follow a student in his own grade so that he can experience a day in the life of a St. Catherine’s cadet.  As an additional benefit, a shadow day helps a future cadet become familiar with his teacher and classmates, easing his transition to a new school.  Contact the Admissions Office to schedule a shadow visit for your son.
